Traditional meets contemporary

Zugspitz Resort opens in December 2019, with numerous new resort services

In March 2019 the ground-breaking ceremony for extensive renovation and reconstruction work will take place in our resort. From that time we will be closing our doors for ten months, and will then be able to reveal lots of new offers from December 2019. In addition to the existing offers in the resort there will be a variety of new resort services available to our guests, providing greater holiday comfort in our 4-star holiday resort.

Whereas the existing apartment building will remain, in the place of the main building which has a reception, offices and restaurants, a new building with some 40 additional rooms, new restaurant areas, an extended offer for children, fitness room and many other attractions are to be constructed.

Hotel – Apartments – Camping. In the Zugspitz Resort you get to choose from a variety of accommodation types:

In the apartment building the spacious rooms and the apartments, which have their own kitchen area, provide space for up to six people to enjoy comfortable holidays and Tyrol country-house style.

By contrast, some 40 new rooms & suites in the new building will impress from December 2019 with their contemporary comfort, in Alpine design. Along with the Junior Suites, which have separate lounge and sleeping areas, and the family suites which have separate children’s rooms, in future our guests will also get to enjoy roof-top rooms and two roof-top suites, providing a unique experience for their stay.

Anyone who is looking for a natural holiday experience can stay the night at the resort’s camp site, which has 150 pitches and is open year-round. A bathhouse with 15 private bathrooms and 20 refurbished bathrooms in the main building provide the utmost in camping comfort.

Irrespective of the type of accommodation, all guests get to enjoy the variety-packed facilities in the holiday resort.

From December a variety of new attractions mean a stay in the Zugspitz Resort will provide a variety-packed holiday experience for families and children. Little guests can look forward to a children’s paradise which has indoor play areas, cinema, pedal cart track and a big adventure playground.

A variety-packed programme of events for children is also tailored to suit all age levels – aged 3 and over – so, from our littlest guests right through to teenagers.

Little visitors are also well looked after in the wellness area: There is a separate family area with family sauna, family steam bath and family relaxation area. Adults relax in the small, nice Adults-only-spa.

In the new children’s water area - which has 5 adventure slides, an adventure pool with pirate ship and infants’ area with underwater realm star Nemo - things are somewhat more action-packed.

The Zugspitz Resort is located in the middle of the natural paradise of Tyrol’s Zugspitz Arena. Over 300 kilometres of hiking trails, 150 hiking routes, over 100 bike routes and family cycle paths, along with numerous managed Alpine inns, tempt nature lovers up into the mountains.

Five times a week there are guided hikes – including guided hikes specifically for families – along with the twice weekly guided bike tours.

In winter too guests will enjoy the family-friendly ski areas, where there are 213 very well-tended kilometres of pistes, 87 lift facilities, Snowpark, fun slope, family park and much, much more. Away from the pistes too there are numerous winter sports activities available – from cross-country skiing to snow-shoe hiking; so you can enjoy action-packed holidays in the snow.

Winter and summer alike, our resort provides an extensive hire service for various items of sports and leisure equipment. From bikes, E-Bikes, Vespas and hiking equipment in the summer, to toboggans and snow-shoes in the winter, to year-round hire of prams, everyone will find their own personal favourite here.

Guests who avail of our luxurious board offer get to enjoy gourmet moments together, with the extensive buffet breakfast, a little selection of afternoon snacks and cakes, as well as a themed buffet, prepared right in front of you in the evening. For vegetarians there are a variety or alternative, meat-free options and there is even a children’s buffet area for infants.

Guests who book a self-catering stay and guests staying in the adjoining campsite can enjoy traditional meals made using regional ingredients in the resort’s a-la-carte restaurant.
