The Zugspitze and its surrounding alpine pastures
A magnificent mountain adventure in the heart of Tyrol
Tyrol shares the highest mountain in the Wetterstein range, the Zugspitze, with its neighbour Bavaria. As one of the most popular day trip destinations, the just under 3,000 metre high panoramic mountain impresses with its many attractions. Sports enthusiasts enjoy skiing on the Zugspitzplatt or scenic ice climbing tours in the winter and hiking or tackling climbing routes on the Zugspitze in the summer. The peak restaurant with unbeatable panoramic view provides indulgent and cosy pleasures.
From Tyrol up Germany's highest mountain
You can conquer the Zugspitze without any effort using the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn cable car directly from the resort. From the peak restaurant's panoramic terrace the view extends over four countries and the eastern Alps' sea of peaks. It is also worth visiting the "Fascination Zugspitze" interactive museum, which tells you lots of interesting facts about the Zugspitze. The Zugspitze also has a new highlight: the little Snow Crystal world at the top station has been providing insight into the magical cosmos of snowflakes since March 2016.
Romantic moments at sunrise
One highlight in the autumn months is a trip to watch the sunrise on the Zugspitze with a breakfast buffet afterwards. You will love the picture postcard motifs and unique ambience when the mountain peaks start to sparkle in the rising sun. Experience the sun rise and views into the distance in the morning sun on the Zugspitze. The large breakfast buffet in the panorama peak restaurant ensures the perfect start to the day.
Ehrwalder Alm recreational area
At the foot of the Zugspitze is a stunning mountain pasture area. Numerous hiking trails, bright blue swimming lakes and sunny terraces with mountain inn treats do wonders for the soul in the summer and the region transforms into a paradise for winter sports fans in the winter.
You can reach the Ehrwalder Alm, a magical recreational area for families and sports enthusiasts in no time at all from our resort. 27.5 kilometres of prepared slopes, a great snow park, 15 kilometres of cross-country trails, winter hiking trails and a night tobogganing run attract people in winter, while hiking trails, mountain bike routes, mountain inns and the Ehrwalder mountain lake impress in the summer.
