Winter sports in the evening – when the stars twinkle above the Zugspitze
The snow glitters in the floodlights, children's laughter echoes across the slopes – and suddenly the winter evening is far too beautiful to spend on the sofa! Whether it's night skiing, tobogganing, ice skating or a leisurely torchlight hike: in the Zugspitz Arena, every evening becomes a family adventure under the sparkling canopy of stars.
Experiencing nature made easy
When the sun disappears behind the peaks and the sky turns a deep blue, the day in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena is far from over. Then the stars twinkle above the mountains and the lights come on on the slopes. During night skiing in Ehrwald, bright floodlights transform the slopes on the Sonnenhang and the family run into a glittering winter paradise every Tuesday and Wednesday from 6.30 pm to 9 pm. Freshly groomed, they invite you to enjoy unforgettable turns under the starry sky – and even the ride on the child-safe 6-seater chairlift ‘Sunracer’ is a little adventure in itself.
The fun continues off-piste too: during night tobogganing in Ehrwald, the illuminated valley run belongs entirely to the tobogganers – fun for young and old alike! Whether it's a mini-bob, wooden toboggan, racing sled or snowfox – everyone whizzes down the slopes with gusto. Somersaults included! Helmets and back protectors are recommended, good humour guaranteed. This is how a winter evening in the Zugspitz Arena ends: with laughter, snow dust and a sky full of stars.
Glittering ice crystals & quiet moments in the snow
Those who prefer gliding rather than speed will find their personal winter bliss at night-time ice skating in Ehrwald. Under sparkling fairy lights, families skate hand in hand across the mirror-like ice while soft music fills the frosty air. Young ice hockey fans can grab a puck themselves during stick skating, while spectators cheer them on enthusiastically.
The evening tours in the Zugspitz Arena also have their own magic: hiking through the quiet, snowy night on snowshoes or touring skis, seeing your own breath in the glow of your headlamp and enjoying the peace and quiet at the top of the hut with a steaming soup or hot tea – these are moments full of magic that will linger in your heart for a long time. Every step through the glistening snow, every laugh on the ice, every shared experience under the starry sky makes winter in Ehrwald unique.
Sparkling lights, family time & winter magic
Then there are those evenings that sound like something out of a winter fairy tale: on torchlight walks through the snow-covered forest, light and shadow dance across the snow, children's eyes shine brighter than the torches, and for a few steps, time seems to stand still. Or you can end the evening comfortably at a ski show in Lermoos or Berwang: professionals perform spectacular jumps under floodlights, music fills the night, and the scent of mulled wine and children's punch is in the air. This is how a day in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena ends – with laughter, amazement, red cheeks and a heart full of winter happiness.
Between night-time nature and mountain experiences, the Zugspitz Resort is the perfect place to unwind. This is what lasting relaxation at the foot of the Zugspitze feels like – completely natural, completely relaxed.
